Audible's pages now call the $14.95 plan Premium, while third-party sites still say Premium Plus. Visit the Audible store page to see the plan that applies to your account. A $7.95 catalog-only plan is no longer shown, so treat it as legacy. You listen in the free Audible app on iOS and Android, and Audible also lists Alexa devices, Fire tablets, Kindles and Sonos.
What the membership includes
On Standard you pick one title a month from the full collection, and extra purchases cost full price. Premium adds the Plus Catalog, which Audible describes as thousands of select Audible Originals, audiobooks and podcasts. These included titles can be streamed or downloaded in the Audible app while you are a member. If you cancel, you lose access to the Plus Catalog titles, but the books you bought stay yours. Many audiobooks are narrated by the author or an actor, so sample a title before you spend a credit.
The free trial
Standard and monthly Premium both start with 30 days free. Cancel anytime before the end and you are not charged. Audible emails a reminder before the trial ends, and if you do nothing, the subscription continues. Annual plans have no trial.
The Daily Deal
The Daily Deal is one audiobook at a reduced price each day, open to everyone, with or without a membership. Turn on notifications to get it by email. I could not confirm the prices on Audible's pages, so I will not quote one. New releases can show up in it, so check each day so you do not miss a book you want.
Member sales and the 2-for-1 sale
Premium members get member-only sales and exclusive discounts on extra purchases, plus discounted extra credits. Audible also runs a 2-for-1 sale, where two audiobooks cost one credit. Several sites say members get 30% off extra credits. Audible's pages mention exclusive discounts without a percentage, and the source that quotes the figure dates from 2023. Treat 30% as reported, not confirmed.
Audible Prime offer
This is a limited time offer for Prime members, and terms apply. If you are a Prime member, Audible's homepage on 18 October 2026 showed $0.99 a month for four months plus a $20 credit, then $8.99 a month. It listed an end date of 19 October at 11:59 PT. A deal site lists an earlier end of 7 October, so the dates disagree. If you are not a Prime member, the standard trial is your entry point. Prime offers seem to recur, so check at sign-up. Other retailers also sell audiobooks, but I did not compare their prices, so the advantage I can verify is Audible's own plans.
Gift memberships
Gift memberships cost $15 per credit: $15 for one month, $45 for three, $90 for six and $150 for 12. Gifts do not auto-renew, and the recipient needs an Amazon account. A redeemed gift cannot be refunded.
Credits, pausing and cancelling
Credits expire 12 months after issue, or when you cancel, unless they were bought through Apple or Google. You can pause once every 12 months, usually for three months. Credits still work during a pause, but you lose the Plus Catalog. If you cancel, bought titles stay in your library and unused credits are lost, so spend them first. Some customers report a retention discount of $2 to $5 a month when they open the cancel page. That is anecdotal.
